Background
Prior to Middle school, Erin had little interest in public speaking. Shortly after being diagnosed with a life-changing disease called Type 1 Diabetes , she gradually developed a niche and found that she has a voice for both advocating and bringing awareness about her disease. Over the years, she has spoken quite a few times on Diabetes to classmates, classes, and even in public formats through pageants and a few other formats such an awareness video.
In high school, she helped create a presentation that was given each semester to all periods of Health classes on Eating disorders with the club called FREED (Face, Recognize, and Educate about Eating Disorders. While she never has had an eating disorder, a close friend of hers did and she learned how to help them and provide them the find adequate resources throughout middle school. She grew this presentation and redesigned it for a 2nd time her senior year, while she was the clubs president.
This same friend along with her own personal struggles with mental health led to adding a third topic to speak on; Mental Health.
A forth and final thing Erin has spoken on was for one semester ; which was Photography. Erin's Speech Coach wanted Erin to step out from speaking on Diabetes, Eating disorders and mental health.
Erin has a few different formats for speeches +presentations available on request for both Diabetes and Mental Health for the following age groups; Middle Schoolers, High Schoolers, College Students.
